Bliss

Everyone, at some point in their life, should read the unabridged version of Les Miserables. (Thank you, Stacie for giving it to me!)
This book is incredible.  I'll tell you why:
  • The characters are so real!  Victor Hugo takes time to let the reader know who each character is (even very small characters).
  • This book is poignent.  I highlighted several passages from the book.  Such as:
"With eyes closed is the best way to look at the soul."
"As for methods of prayer, all are good, as long as they are sincere."
"People are ignorant of things they ought to know, and know things of which they ought to be ignorant."
  • I never wanted this book to end. At 1500 pages you'd think you'd want a book to end, but I just wanted to keep reading and reading and reading.  Since this book ended I started reading Notre Dame de Paris - I can't get enough Hugo!
  • This book is both emotional and humorous.
  • This book contains pieces of France's history.
***

I'm loving Boots Skin Tonic with Damask Rose.  It makes my skin feel so soft, it smells of roses, and I feel so Parisian when using it. (Courtney recommended it to me when I visited her at the beginning of the month.)

I love this song right now.
***
Kyle Chandler is a stud - I just started watching season one of Friday Night Lights.

***
I'll be in the MTC in three weeks!

There is a reason Spencer W. Kimball said that "Les Miserables",is the second greatest book ever written, with the Holy Scriptures being the first.

And yes, Mr.Chandler is one fine man:)

I'm so glad you read it and you liked it! I absolutely adored it, even though I thought I'd never get through the first 300 or so pages. I'm already considering re-reading it.

When you get back you should read Hugo's "The Man Who Laughs." I almost lost it at one part. IN A BOOK! He's so good with characters, I agree. I will probably start up Les Mis in December after NaNoWriMo.
